Rent Our Hall

Welcome to Greater Kensington String Band! Greater Kensington would love to host your special event and offers two rental spaces that are ideal for weddings, graduation parties, birthday parties, baby showers, luncheons, rehearsals, community events, fundraisers, and anniversaries.

The Halls

Lower Hall

  • Holds a maximum of 75 people.
  • Includes 4 rectangular tables, two round tables, two cocktail high tops tables, as well as a full 30 seat bar.
  • Not pictured above is a 20-foot shuffleboard table that normally acts as a food service area for lower hall events.

Upper Hall

  • Newly renovated in January of 2022.
  • Holds a maximum of 165 people.
  • Standard set up includes 9 round tables with 6 chairs each, and four 6 foot rectangular tables. Additional tables and chairs are available upon request.

Frequently Asked Questions

GKSB rents our hall out primarily for events Fridays through Sundays. Other days available upon request. 

View our “Rental Calendar”  to view potential available dates. Although this calendar is updated daily, reserving a date is first come first serve with respect to when you make your deposit.

Our standard rental consists of a four-hour event. We typically rent in the afternoons from 1pm to 5pm or 2pm to 6pm. We rent in the evenings from either 7pm to 11pm or 8pm to 12am. Other hours can be possible based upon availability.

Included in your rental costs is the room setup, cleanup, the bartender, and soda/water from our bar. Greater Kensington can supply white table covers upon request at $10 per table. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring your own.

We meet potential renters on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 8pm to fill out a rental contract and show our spaces. A minimum $300 deposit is due to hold a rental on our calendar at the time of contract.

You may access the hall 1 hour before your scheduled start time to set up/decorate and have a half hour after your event to break down. This is included with the normal rental price. Additional hours may be available at an added cost.

No outside alcohol is permitted at our hall. We have a cash bar available as well as open bar packages. (35 per person for bottom shelf and 50 per person for top shelf). Final numbers for open bar must be reported to us no less than two weeks prior to your event.

On top of the price for the rental, a refundable $100 security deposit is required for all rentals. To receive your deposit back, please inquire at the conclusion of your event with our bartender or email us after your event. 

Common security deposit violations would include, but are not limited to: excessive cleanup needed to hall, property damage, theft of hall property, violation of alcohol policy, harassment/mistreatment of staff, and illegal drug use during rental. We also request that all food items brought in are taken with you or disposed of. Balloons must be discarded INSIDE of our hall by being popped and placed in a receptacle. Our staff will gladly assist on this. 

Greater Kensington does not offer a kitchen for public use on our premises. You are welcome to cater your own event or bring in your own food. We also offer a catering package should you be interested in partner with our preferred vendor.
